Nicolás Demaria

Interactive worlds · 3D · Browser games Avatars + AI Three.js · React · TypeScript · Phaser

Nicolás builds visual, interactive experiences for the browser: interactive 3D worlds and digital twins, browser games, real-time conversational avatars, and agent simulations. Perplace, the most important project he works on, generates editable 3D cities, buildings and interiors where the world is data a game, a design tool or a simulation can use. Flópiti and Valley of Guardians are his browser games, at Doubland he owns the front end of a live show where AI Doubles of real people live in a pixel town, and this landing is a 3D avatar that talks with the visitor by voice. What he goes after is experiences that hook you, feel convincing and look finished.

Experience

Doubland

eight months inside the client team

eight months, from the Doubles to the landing

I have been on Doubland for eight months, inside the client team, and my scope grew the whole time. I started on the replay viewer and moved into the Doubles themselves: how they find their way through the town, how they reach the exact spot they are heading to, when two of them start talking, and the data that describes every place. Then I built the player around it: timeline, speeds, live mode, share links and highlights. Since September I own the front end and the landing of doubland.ai: the new city map and how it runs on phones, the person card on each Double, chat with a Double from the landing, and account, sign-in and onboarding. My way of working there is to measure first, write down the decision and why, and ship in small steps with tests, checked on real phones.

Formal company experience

Powtoon is Nicolás’s most formal company experience: 3+ years inside a London-based product organization, shipping frontend and product work around AI video generation and text-to-speech while coordinating across global teams, backend, design, leadership, scrum, and QA.

Perplace

now

The most important project I work on

Perplace is the most important project I work on today. It is a 3D world creation tool: it generates editable 3D cities, buildings and interiors. You start with a real place, a reference or an idea, and you get one connected world, from the streets to the rooms inside, where every building can be entered and the objects keep their meaning as data.

The honest public framing for Nicolás is around six years of software work overall, with 5+ years of React and TypeScript in production. The seniority read comes from real ownership and system depth, not inflated timelines.

About

Experiences that hook you, feel convincing and look finished.

Nicolás's stack leads with the visual side: Three.js, React Three Fiber and WebGL for 3D worlds, Phaser for browser games, and three-vrm for this avatar, all on React and TypeScript, where his production depth is 5+ years. Backend is a capability he integrates, not his lane: he knows and can wire Supabase, SQL, auth, Docker and some Kubernetes, plus Node on game servers, and Python where a project needs it, like the e-translator document pipeline. The lane he is moving into is visual and interactive work.

When a model is part of the experience, as in this talking avatar or in Doubland's AI Doubles, Nicolás builds the system around it rather than a one-shot prompt wrapper: explicit contracts, validation, retries, and failure states, so the experience survives production instead of collapsing on the first odd input.
